The Arbella International Photography Contest offers participants the opportunity to both delve deep into a specific theme and freely express their unique photographic language. The contest consists of the main category "Beauty of Imperfection," the "Open" category with no subject restrictions, and the "Future Viewfinder" special achievement program aimed at increasing the visibility of young photographers aged 18-24.
Beauty of Imperfection
The contest’s main category, "Beauty of Imperfection," aims to reveal the aesthetics, emotions, and stories carried by details that fall outside the conventional perception of perfection.
This category invites photographers to explore unique beauties found in people, nature, urban life, objects, and any moment of daily life through the language of photography. Traces seen as flaws, fractures, aging, irregularities, coincidences, or unexpected details are treated as aesthetic components of character, reality, and sincerity within this theme.
With "Beauty of Imperfection," photographers are invited to look at flaws through a different lens; to capture the visual power of the authentic rather than the perfect.
Open
The "Open" category offers participants the freedom to use the expressive power of photography without any subject restrictions.
In this category, photographers can showcase their perspectives through people, nature, city, street, portrait, documentary, conceptual narrative, architecture, daily life, or a completely personal visual approach. In this field, where every moment touched by light can turn into a story, a wide and free space is opened for creative forms of expression.
The "Open" category is designed as a platform where photographers can boundlessly reflect their own visual languages, aesthetic preferences, and narrative styles.
Future Viewfinder
Special Achievement Program (Ages 18-24)"Future Viewfinder" is a special program created to increase the visibility of, honor, and support the professional development of young talents aged 18-24.
This section is not a separate application category. Young photographers aged 18-24 who participate in the "Beauty of Imperfection" and "Open" categories are automatically included in the "Future Viewfinder" evaluation pool based on the age criteria.
Thus, while competing in the general classification, young participants are also specifically evaluated alongside their own age groups and similar levels of experience.
