Ercan Arslan

Born in 1970, Ercan Arslan laid his academic foundations at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, GSF Photography Department, and completed his master's degree at the same institution in 2019. At the heart of his professional career is his 30-year role (1993-2023) as a photojournalist and photo editor at Milliyet Newspaper. He carries this deep-rooted field experience into the academic world by giving "Press Photography" and "Documentary Photography" lectures at MSGSÜ and Yıldız Technical University today.
In addition to his remarkable solo exhibitions such as "Touching the East", "Oxygen", and "Culture Coming with Water", the artist has represented Turkish photography in the international arena by participating in group exhibitions in countries such as Italy and South Korea alongside masters like Ara Güler and İzzet Keribar. Reflecting the visual power of photography in different media, Arslan prepared and presented the "Now is Photography Time" program for World Travel Channel in 2013 and authored a book titled "Touching the East".
His achievements are certified with prestigious awards such as the 2011 TGC "Photographer of the Year", TFMD "European Union Award First Place", and Getty Images "Achievement Award". Arslan, an honorary member of the Association of Turkish Journalists, the Association of Turkish Photojournalists, and İFSAK, is considered one of Turkey's most respected photography artists through his work in both documentary photography and the press world.
